    Default Dragonlance Video Game

Just wondering on everyone's thoughts on a new DL game for like the PS2/Xbox/PC with new graphics or with the technology we have now a days. I do love the RPG games out there currently (Champions of Norrath and such) but why can't we get something for DL. Just a thought I know we have the early 90 games but that's just not the same feel as something. Maybe we can hit up one of the developers or Margert with the thought.

A MMORPG based on the world of Krynn would be very cool. Turbine and Atari I think are makeing a D&D online game supposedly to come out late this year. so that maybe what your looking for.

Heh. Making computer games is not as easy as it looks. For current games, you need a lot of different people working together on it. and someone needs to pay the salaries. I tred to program a new-updated dragon flight simulator/rpg/RTS years ago. So i definitely see a potential for DL games for years now. Steelwind also attempted to make a NeverWinterNights Mod for dragonlance. you can ask him more details and the progress of the DragonLance Adventures NWN mod.

I disagree. I look at UO, Sims-Online, Earth&Beyond, WoW, CoH, GuildWars, D2:LoD, and Everquest, and i don't see it fitting dragonlance. Sure we get to walk around the unique cities, and converse with fellow fans, but look at the quests in those MMORPGs. Dragonlance is epic Hero fantasy. and MMORPGS are repeatable-non-hero fantasy. Dragonlance itself, has unique items. a MMORPG has rare copies of equipment. eventually under a MMORPG, everyone might have a copy of Huma's Lance which makes it seem generic. Who wants to be in a MMORPG where everyone is dressed up as blackrobed wizards with hourglass eyes? Who wants to be your average barmaid, when you can be the standard warrior/fighter?

A RPG for DL would be bloody brilliant, however, If they plan on mking one, they should wait for the PlayStation 3 that is schedualed for late 2006. The E3 show ofit blew me away, the graphics are amazing.
    cheers

    Post DL v-game..

mmm, for a mmorpg ~ trying to pack-in all that data wouldn't be possible for this generation of consoles; at the present moment, a pc "could" do it justice.. *reflects* however, next gen (xbox-360, for example..) would be a different story; after all, look at elder scrolls 4 - the visuals alone make my head spin with delight & a DL rpg (whether offline or online..) could potentially have much to offer on such consoles ~ assuming that the project would be given to the right team......on a personal note, i wouldn't mind seeing a 3D action-rpg along the lines of forgotten realms, or champions of norrath ~ i'd buy it.. ^^

But how many people would be willing to shell out $500 for the PS3 and an extra $70 for the DL game itself? With that much money, you could go and buy all the SP DL gaming books avaible, and then some.

Buy the way, the price is an estimte given to me by my brother, who read it in a magizine.

wait i thought an x-box 360 was just an xbox rotated so that it stood on its side..... although i may be wrong

and i do think that something along the lines of an online world would be cool only make it a workld where theres only one item and no quests per say make it one where you go around doing either evil or good which ever floats your boat and make it tie in somehow getting new problems everyso often

OH yEAH they should have a DL game out like World of warcraft or everquest or maybe sumthing like Champions of Norrath and Champions return to ARms i SAY WE Should pass this idea by Margaret. A dragon lance videogame for the xbox/Ps2 or even the PC would BE AWSOME .....Besides not very many NEW MMORPG's out these days :(

I think the authors (Including Margaret herself) are aware we want a DL Video game. No need to say it again.

Personally I think they should hit up Square Enix to do it, they did a great job with FFXI and i disagree with the idea of things becoming to geniric. They can quite easily make only one of real rare items, though i'd say one for every server. And why wouldn't anyone want to try their hand at being a busty little bar maid, lol, sounds like fun to me
